With the publication of Paryn’s Gold, I have established an entity/identity under which to publish future works. That identity is Faith X Fiction Press.
Initially Faith X Fiction Press will be for publishing future books from David G. Johnson and A.R. Johnson, my daughter. The plan, however, will be to grow Faith X Fiction Press into something much more.
I participate in and hosts several groups online for Christian Independent Authors. There are many authors out there who have a desire to write, but there are two possible problems with many Christian Indie authors.
1) Their writing is not on par with solid, professional authors, and/or
2) Their writing is not distinguishable from secular authors. In other words, the “Christian” content is either very weak or not present at all. Most are “clean” reads but not necessarily “Christian” reads.
Future plans for Faith X Fiction Press will be establishing this blog, and later even a separate site, where Christian readers can go to find quality, Christian reads in a variety of genres. For now, I have secured the www.faithxfiction.com domain name and it is pointing to my author page, but the plan is that at some point this will become an independent website, with Christian authors taking turns blogging about books, sharing information about good, solid Christian authors, and helping to point Christian readers to genuinely good Christian books. Please keep this effort in your prayers.
For now, the plan for this blog will be to feature guest blogs from other Christian Indie Authors, features about books that I and/or trusted friends of FaithXFiction have read, reviewed, and recommended as 1) quality written books and 2) identifiably Christian reads. We will not be selling advertising space on FaithXFiction, nor will we just accept or recommend books by friends we know as a reciprocal agreement to co-promote my books on their sites. If books appear under the Recommended Reads on this site, you can rest assured that they have been read by either myself or trusted reviewers and are books we can recommend with confidence to Christian readers. On the Recommended Reads page, you will be able to click the books there to be taken directly to Amazon to purchase those books. All sales from that are conducted directly with Amazon.com and not through this site. I am only making the connections for readers interested in the books.
The heart behind this is not to put myself or those I know above anyone else. Everyone is on a different point on a journey, and I know my own writing certainly has areas that can improve. Authors not appearing on this site is also not meant as any slight against them. There could be any number of reasons for that, most likely that our backlogged reading list just may not have gotten to them yet.
This is a work in progress, and the heart behind it is to provide a service to Christian readers and to help Christian Indie authors connect with potential readers. I sincerely hope that as this work in progress progresses, if you find the information here useful to you, please by all means let other readers know about this resource. It will take some time to build our library of recommended reads, and I will be working on how to organize them by genre. If you have any suggestions for books you have enjoyed, by all means let us know about them and we will try to get one of our diligent reviewers to get to them.
While there are doubtless a plethora of great Christian books out there, please keep in mind that Faith X Fiction’s mission is going to be specifically geared toward Independently Published or Small Press authors. The big-name guys have their own PR firms and ways to reach thousands of readers, but the goal here is to help publicize lesser known authors in many genres to help them reach Christian readers.
Thank you so much for all of your support of myself and my daughter and our writing ministry throughout the last year or two. Your support is what makes our writing ministry possible. Your kind encouragement has meant a great deal. Hopefully by providing this service, we can give a little bit back.
